Game Day Runway

Whether you are the "girly girl" or the "sporty girl" lets face it, we all want to look cute on game day! So I have put together two looks for the cool fall weather that would be perfect for the game day runway.

The "Girly Girl" Look
I feel the "girly girl" look is just a notch down from wearing heels and a dress to the game. More dainty but still representing your team. I have styled this look with a cardigan that has the team logo on the chest, a sequin team color tank to wear underneath, skinny dark wash jeans, knee high riding boots, a team logo charm bracelet, hoop earrings, and a small clutch bag.

The "Sporty Girl" Look
The "sporty girl" look is the more rough and tough one. It says "I'm the die hard fan yelling at the ref" but "I'm still a girl that wants to look cute and fabulous." With this look, it may be really easy to go overboard with the team logo ( or is there such a thing!). I have styled this look with the team football jersey, a long sleeve white shirt to wear underneath (you can't cover up the team name and logos right?), a team logo beanie, skinny ripped jeans, boots, stud earrings, beaded team logo bracelet, and a cross body satchel.

Although these may be two different looks or even looks that can be put together, the same make-up, hairstyle, and nails can work for both looks.
I would go with a gold smoky eye for make-up, loose wand curls for the hairstyle, and a simple manicure (in the team colors of course) for the nails to set off your "girly girl" or "sporty girl" look for the game day runway!

Throwback Thursday: Jersey Edition

Thursday Night Football: Falcons vs Buccs

So it is only right that today's "Throwback Thursday" is about my Atlanta Falcons! This Thursday is jersey edition. So I am going to give you a fun fact about the Atlanta Falcons throwback uniform, well, helmet! (courtesy of the Bleacher Report).

The Falcons original uniforms featured red helmets, black jerseys, white pants, and striped black socks. Controversy then came about their helmet. Students over at Georgia Tech, which is in the heart of Atlanta and just minutes from the Georgia Dome, were angry the Atlanta-based team was donning University of Georgia colors. Georgia actually wore black jerseys way back in the day, and also wore white pants nearly identical to the Falcons during the start of the Dooley era. The Falcons road jerseys had black numbers, just like the Dawgs. As a result to make everyone happy, the Falcons wore two thin gold stripes (1/2 of the Yellow Jackets colors) on their helmets from 1966-1969.

Starting in 2009, the Falcons did away with their all-black alternate uniform that had came about in 1990 and replaced it with the 1966 throwback. While most fans love the throwback, many have been disappointed with the fact the black pants (from the all-black alternate) are not worn for road games because they are no longer part of the team's uniform set. After many wardrobe changes through more than 40 years, the Falcons have strictly followed NFL uniform standards, wearing the same home uniform, road uniform, and throwback alternate.

(Pictured below: Falcons quarterback, Matt Ryan (2) and former running back, Jason Snelling (44) wearing the throwback uniforms. Notice the gold stripes separating the white and red on the helmets.)

GO FALCONS!!
Moving to 2-1 tonight!!

Ladies Love Football

ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL? I know I am! The NFL season kicks off tonight with the Seattle Seahawks verses the Green Bay Packers. Personally I am looking forward to the ultimate rivalry game on Sunday. My Falcons verses the Aints. I am sorry verses the Saints.

Let's face it, women love football just as much as men do. Women are no longer becoming "football widows." Instead they are on the couch or at the game right along with the guys. About 65%  of Americans watch pro football and of that about 55% are women. To target this growing audience of women, the NFL provides an entire line of women's apparel that includes: jerseys, jackets, hats, purses, swimwear, etc. Jerseys for women are tailored to a women's body. They are shorter, fitted, and curve at the waist; a style that appeals to women.
Other companies outside of the NFL are also catering to women and their love for football. PINK by Victoria's Secret has their own NFL collection of gear for all 32 teams. Who knows women better than Victoria's Secret? Their gear has more bling and flirty sayings but still say "I'm ready for game day!"
Ladies love football too and everyone knows it. Why not cater to our needs? We want to look good  rooting for our teams too.
I look forward to a great season of some good old football! GO FALCONS!

KSU has football jerseys?

YES! Today Kennesaw State University unveiled their first ever football uniforms for the 2015 inaugural season.

The home uniform includes: A GOLD jersey with gray numbers outlined in black, Kennesaw State written proudly in black across the chest above the numbers, and white pants with a gold "KS" logo sewn on the top left leg.

The away uniform includes: A WHITE jersey with gold numbers outlined in black, Kennesaw State written in black, and gold pants with a gold "KS" logo.  (My favorite uniform!)

The alternate uniform includes: A BLACK jersey with gray numbers outlined in gold, Kennesaw State written in gold, and black pants with a gold "KS" logo.

The Big South Conference logo is placed on the right chest and the infamous inaugural season logo on the left chest. The uniforms are completed with a gold helmet with black stripes, black face mask and a gold and black "KS" insignia on each side. The design option of the football helmet was selected by the students, staff, faculty, and fans of Kennesaw State.

Oh can't forget the accessories! The uniform includes a specialized Adidas clima lite undershirt, Adidas cleats, Adidas team socks, and Adidas adiZero 5-star gloves that include the KSU owl logo.

The uniforms were designed in a collaborative effort of Adidas (the official athletic apparel provider of KSU), Brian Bohannon (Head football coach), the Department of Athletics branding committee, and Michael Creasy (licensing specialist with Kennesaw State University Relations).

These uniforms create a clean yet tough and edgy look. Every team wants to stand out and be different than the next. These jerseys stand apart from that of Georgia State and UGA ( The only two schools bigger than KSU in GA!). They are unique to Kennesaw. They say, "If you look good, you feel good." Hopefully for KSU, "If we look good, we play good." With that being said, I can't wait to see those nice brand new gold helmets shine in the Saturday night lights! GO OWLS!
